Percy Lake Ratepayers' Association
Executive Meeting - Sunday August 5th, 2007 10:00a.m.
Present: K. Loney, G. Roberts, J. Shepherd, J. Richert, G. Portway, S. Russel
1. Treasurer's Report – G. Warren not present. A redirection of the fire pump reserve fund will be done in the near future.
2. TSW Coalition Update – G. Portway and G. Roberts had attended the latest meeting of the coalition where they presented a report about Percy Lake and the water level situation as it related to the environment on our lake. Their recommendation was that there be no more than one half the present maximum draw down on the lake levels. The coalition has done lots of work on the water level issues and will give a final report to the ministry the end of September. A final decision on lake levels in the Trent-Severn System is expected by the end of December. Percy Lake directors agreed to donate 200.00 to the TSW Coalition (approx. $5/member).
3. Fire Pump – An offer to buy the fire pump was made by J.Richert and accepted by the directors.
4. Percy Lake Watershed Plan – A revision of the Plan will be presented to the September Dysart Township council meeting. If the plan is endorsed at this meeting, it will pass on to the county level.
5. New Business
- K. Loney will continue to work on the process of incorporating the PLRA as a non-profit entity. The fee is 200.00.
- The directors approved a recommendation to reimburse members of the PLRA for gasoline used on approved association business up to a maximum of .30/km.
- Some discussion about the purpose of having a rate payers' association prompted by questions raised while encouraging cottagers to join the PLRA. K. Loney suggested we look at the minutes of the early meetings of the association where goals and purposes were stated.
